Dear Alumni, Friends and Colleagues,
We are thankful that so many of you have inquired about how to help members of the Stetson Law family during this time of crisis. As you know, this pandemic has affected people in dramatic and unimaginable ways. Our students are no different.
Students at all levels have expressed a variety of needs – from food to rent, and from medical bills to unexpected expenses related to online education. Our third-year law students, in particular, are facing an incredibly challenging time. As they finish their final year of law school and prepare for the Bar Exam (the date of which is still uncertain), many are now finding their planned timeline for testing and employment disrupted. In just two short months, our 3L students will finish law school but will be unable to take the Bar Exam and will be faced with delayed employment prospects. In the midst of this, they will have to find some way to cover their basic needs. Our students need support to secure their own financial footing in these trying times, as they transition from law school to employment in the uncertain landscape of COVID-19.
This is why we have now focused our spring campaign exclusively on our students. We are Stetson -- and we support our own. To respond to the needs of students, we established an umbrella fund, Stetson University College of Law Student Emergency Fund, to help them weather the impact of COVID-19. Unlike many endowed or current use funds, this fund is designed to provide maximum flexibility in meeting the needs of our students during this uncertain time.
Our goal is to raise $125,000. We hope you will consider joining us in supporting future fellow alumni in need. This campaign runs from now until June 30 and all donations are tax deductible.
To make your gift online, please click the "Donate Here" button located at the top of this page. Alternatively, checks designated for the fund can be mailed to: Stetson University College of Law, Development and Alumni Relations, 1401 61st St. S., Gulfport, FL 33707.
If you need to reach us, please call us at (727) 562-7818, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM. Our staff monitors messages during normal business hours.
Thank you for your continued support. We wish good health to you and yours.
